Shout out to our St. Benilde School Choir! Our SBS Choir Members had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the NOLA Gold season opener on Saturday Night! They did an amazing job!

Santa is coming to SBS! Our Men's Club is hosting a breakfast with Santa & his friends on Sunday, Dec. 19! Please join our Men's Club for a sensational breakfast and the opportunity to take pictures with Santa, his elf (Mr. Thomas Huck, Principal), the Grinch (Mr. Eddie Pilie, Men's Club President) and Benny Benilde (School Mascot).

This morning, our Kindergarteners celebrated together during their Christmas program titled, "Happy Birthday Jesus." Our Kindergarteners sang songs and played the hand bells to celebrate Jesus's birth!

Our AMAZING St. Benilde students celebrated their hard work and positive behaviors during our first semester Benilde Bash on Friday. Students celebrated by earning individual prizes and prizes for their classes. We also had special guest performances by Student Council and our SBS Cheerleaders plus a special appearance from Benny Benilde!

Thank you Fat Boy's Pizza Metairie for our delicious lunch today for our 4th grade class who won the Penny War contest. These students helped raise $2,126 for our #iGiveCatholic campaign!

Thank you to all of the members of our SBS community who participated in our Trunk or Treat on Friday Night! We had such a great time seeing all of the decorative trunks and creative costumes. We want to give a big thank you to our St. Benilde Grandparents Club, St. Benilde Home & School Association, and St. Benilde Men's Club for organizing the event. Thank you so much to everyone in our SBS Community who supported our Book Fair last week!

Congratulations to our SBS Cross County Team who did an AMAZING job at the Kenner Klassic race on Saturday. Our girls team won 3rd place our of 12 teams and our boys team won 2nd place out of 13 teams. We are so proud of all of our runners. Our final race will be on Saturday, October 30th. Come cheer us on!

This week in PLTW Science Class, Mrs. Virga's 6th and 7th grade students are learning to build electromagnets with wire, nails, and 9 volt batteries. Students challenged each other to see who could pick up the most paper clips with their magnets.

It's that time again! Our St. Benilde School Book Fair will be open to the public following the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Masses on Sunday, October 17 in the school library. We will also be open on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday after school during the week of October 17-22! We look forward to reading with you!

As a school, we are excited to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month! Each morning, our student council has been teaching our school a Spanish word of the day. Our students in 4th-7th grade created a collaborative mural to celebrate notable Hispanics and our 2nd - 7th graders created papel picado to decorate our school bulletin boards!

October 4th is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Benilde celebrated the day with a blessing of the animals. St. Benilde families and friends brought their pets to be blessed by Father Matthew. Our youngest students had their stuffed animals blessed too!

On Wednesday, September 29th at Student Mass, we honored our SBS Students of the Month for the month of August. These students were nominated by their teachers because they were great examples of our virtue of the month: courtesy.

This week in Science Class, Mrs. Virga's 6th and 7th grade students are learning to apply the steps of the design process to design, sketch, and build models using a decision matrix. Our students designed models of tables and chairs intended to be used in college dorms. They followed specific criteria and worked within given constraints to present their work.

Fall has arrived and our students are enjoying this beautiful weather!

We would like to thank Huey P’s Pizzeria and our generous donor for the special lunch today. Our students were extremely grateful and excited for this amazing treat!

It was a glorious day in our Rainbow Building with lots of new Pre-K3, Pre-K4, and Kindergarten students filling our hallways with smiles! We are so excited to start the year with you!

Our 1st-7th Graders had a wonderful first day back on 1801 Division Street. We are so excited to have all of our students back on campus for another amazing year.
